  • Record Video straight to your site!

    Today we’re officially launching the Webcam Video Recorder!


    We’ve been noticing more and more vloggers on Xanga and also noticed the long process someone has to go through to upload a video from your webcam to Xanga.  There’s gotta be an easier way! So Michael included these features for a better vlogging experience:
    • Record directly off your upload page
    • Goes straight to the Xanga servers so it saves space on your computer
    • Shortened transcoding time (fastest around!)

    So if you have a webcam, check it out!  Try recording a video and let us know what you think – In fact, record a video and let us know there!

  • it’s grabbing my video, but not my audio… i know my mic is working (skype, etc). any suggestions?

  • ok, I got my mic working.. Flash input level was too low. But my voice sounds like a chipmunk.

    I can assure you that I haven’t touched the helium since that incident involving Gary Coleman and the TSA. Any ideas why the audio sounds like that?

  • I would like to suggest that you make subscriptions easier to sort through by allowing the date to be chosen for when you’re looking for the blog, like a user is able to do with their own posts.

  • Maybe I’m just not looking in the right place, but I can’t find anywhere to just ask a question. So I’ll do it here!

    Is there any way to make every post you’ve ever written private? I know how to do them individually, but I’ve been a member for almost 3 years now and that’s… a lot of posts.

    Also, have you ever thought of making a Xanga instant messenger?

  • hi, i have a question.  If you already posted a blog under public and then a couple minutes later change the status to private, will it still be sent through e-mail to my blog subscribers or willl it stay private.  In other words, how long after a blog is posted until it is sent out in an email to subscribers??? just wondering because my last blog was really personal and i didn’t want the whole world knowing about my personal life… you reply is greatly appreciated!! thanks!

  • Dear Chris,

    I’m an avid user of Xanga and i’ve been locked out of one of my sites ThePerpetsiaCampaign.  Now believe me, it has been more than 45 mins since this happened yesterday and my friend, who has access to the site as well, changed to password to make sure i was putting in the right one.  So i typed in the new one and that damn message popped up again.  I really hope there is something to do because it’s a roleplay and im one of the moderators

  • A quirk in your system…

    On the themes modules…the “recent weblogs” module includes a link to “view all weblogs” but this link goes to the unformatted side of my page. Shouldn’t this link to a page that matches the theme I chose?

    1 ] the links arent even working. so i cant even take the stupid layout off.
    2 ] i find beautiful layouts that layout owners make, and now i cant even see them because that new format you have up is blocking it.
    3 ] the old xanga was alot easyer to navigate through, and alot nicer to use.

  • dude…..  pls ask someone to look at the email posting scripts..  it’s broken and noone writes back man!!  i’ve sent so many help emails and nothing man…!!

  • hello I have this MAJORLY HUGE problem this person (ohheychris) hacked into my other site rushedfame, and is posing/pretending to be me, changed my password&email on it, and writing really bad inapporpiate things in peoples xangas comments, and on posts on my other/old site rushedfame. PLEASE HELP ME!!

  • Two suggestions:

    1) An option to limit subscriptions to online and/or email and not allow instant emails. I have a couple of persistent flamers (when I mean persistent, I mean certifiably insane since the two of them are now in their fourth year of flaming me, lol) who continually sub under different names. I like the control of not allowing rss, now I would like it to stop instant emails.

    2) An option not to receive mass-messages.  Some people are totally addicted to sending out “I’ve just posted a new blog, please give me stars” type messages to everyone on their friends/sub list.  Its just spam.  I did (part of) a blog on it last week, a lot of people commenting agreed with me in disliking it.

  • I’ve lost alot of videos from using this,  are all the bugs fixed?   Just last weekend I lost the first time my neice saw herself on video…  frustrating stuff.

  • Hi, i’ve been trying to reach someone on your team for a few days.

    pay for xanga premium. And my site cannot be publicly previewed for two
    days already. WHAT IS WRONG. I’m trying not to be pissed but i am
    because I PAY FOR PREMIUM and i use my blog for advertising purposes in
    my city.

    I can log into my account. I can submit entries. But neither i, nor anyone else can see it online. It. is. utterly. empty.

    Please look into this.
