Due to popular demand, we’re bringing Lifetime Premium back!
It’s been over 18 months since we stopped offering Lifetime Premium. Yet, we still get emails from people asking for it! One email stuck out in my head the most, when a user didn’t ask for the Lifetime Premium plan, but instead asked – “can I have Xanga for life?”
We thought it was just another premium plan – but rather, It’s a commitment, it’s a full pledge. It’s Xanga for Life. The great part of it is, you don’t have to get Lifetime Premium to grasp this, but for those that do, I think there’s something needed to stand apart.
These people helped Xanga be what it is today. So, for all lifetimers you’ll now have the Xanga for Life badge to honor your committment. This will display on your Basic Info module on your site.
And if you don’t want to show this on your site, you have the option to hide this as well (http://edit.xanga.com/editpremium.aspx).

I remember getting the lifetime premium a few years ago. Even though I don’t post very often anymore, I still am glad I got it.
considering i’ve had premium since 2003, i can’t help but feel a teensy-weensy bit jipped, thinking i shoulda gotten lifetime xanga a few years back. =) there, you have your first belly-acher right here! yeah, why did you guys stop offering lifetime 18 months ago??

Recently, I’ve thought about getting the lifetime thing so I don’t feel jipped when I pay whatever-I-pay every so often, but I didn’t even realize until this announcement that the option was gone! Hah. I think I may get it.

I purchased the lifetime when I found xanga. It appeared to have a good purpose which is wonderful to be a part of. Despite xanga being so awesome, there is one lifetime, actually eternal commitment I have made which is the best yet that does not deal with commitment to the internet. Yet, through Xanga, I have found some amazing friends that share my same eternal commitment!!! I do enjoy Xanga and hope it grows and continues in awesome ways! I’m able to learn from people on Xanga from all over the world. Even if we may not agree on things, I do enjoy learning from them which allows my own world to grow. I have no regrets getting Lifetime premium!!!!!

Through an odd serious of circumstances I had lifetime for a short while and if I remember correctly it had an end date attached to it, maybe something like 2038.
I’d really like to get it again but will there be an end date?

delete them and sometimes try them out. This one though has changed my
life from the day I recieved it. This letter has been send to hundreds
of people and still going strong.

Thanks Chris. 2 questions. If we’ve already paid for Premium up through an anniverary date or something, does it get prorated? If not, woudn’t it make sense to wait and pay the $100 when our current Premim expires? Also, besides “life” do you get any additional storage capabilities? Extra support?

although i’m still fine with my username, i’ve had it for 4 years now, and had lifetime for years too. but if we wanted to change our username, we’d have to make a new account, and thus lose our premium.
so as a suggestion, maybe we could let premium members have a function to change their name whenever they want? but it also changes everywhere too, like on other people’s subscriptions or comments, wherever it had your old username as a link, it changes . That way they don’t have to re-add you!

Xanga’s been a great weblog to me and as I look back to all the memories I have logged into my Xanga,…I can’t help but to think that I might have been retarded a couple years back,…Who writes like that!?!?!?!? 
It would be nice if us Xanga bloggers could get the lifetime, and pay it in installments, instead of one big charge all at once. Most folks can only afford a ceratin amount a month… I’d commit to the $100.00 If i could pay it off in small monthly installments. I dont like putting alot on my credit card at once. To me, that much all at once IS alot. Sorry to sound cheap. I’m very frugal…

I’m still trying to figure out what premium members get that non-paying members get these days. I’ve paid the yearly premium price since the day I joined and all I can see is that I’d get more uploading space than a non-paying member. As someone who doesn’t do the whole video / picture thing, it’s useless. Outside of being able to use a different skin, there’s no reason for me to pay anymore.
How long is “a limited time”? I don’t have $100 right this very minute, but I definitely want Life.

Interesting…I don’t have much use for premium though, I’m happy with the basic features, except for the archive files that you can only get at premium. But I may get it for another site that I have…once I save enough money for it. I like the idea nonetheless!

I just signed up. Could you please give us the ability to back-date? Sometimes you want to write about your wedding on the actual date is occurred but couldn’t get to a computer until two days after the event. So that in years to come I’ll know exactly what date to look up when I need to go back.

I got a lifetime membership back in 2003 and I am glad I did. I had no idea I would still be here so many hears later, but I am glad that I am. I tried other blog sites, but just didn’t like them as well. the $100.00 you pay for a lifetime membership is well worth it. Thanks for bringing it back. I know someone in Xangaland who can’t afford Lifetime so I think I’ll gift it to her on payday.

OK, two things I’m REALLY ticked off about.
1. Xanga made me change my password, EVEN THOUGH my ORIGINAL PASSWORD far exceeds the requirements. SURELY it should be able to CHECK my password and if it already meets the requirements leave it alone?!
2. When I look around Xanga to find the “Contact Us” link, to actually talk to “Xanga” about point 1, THERE ISN’T ONE. Please – some of us don’t want to just say “Duh dude you’re awesome” – we actually want to discuss the service we pay for and that you provide. As a customer, that is not too much to ask. Please provide a “Contact Us” link for me to submit questions and problems to the Xanga team for resolution.

I’ve been trying to upgrade to Lifetime for two days. Each time I get to the screen where I fill out the credit card info, and hit continue, I get a runtime error screen. My premium subscription has undoubtedly run out, so I’ve lost my “custom module”. (the code is still on my look and feel page, but the module is not visible from my Xanga blog which is not premium anymore.)

hey i really don’t have any idea how to put a layout on my site. this is what i tried to do:
i found a layout, copied the code, and went to “look and feel” then i changed “hide header” to “put in your own html” or whatever. then i pasted it in there, and saved my changes. so i went back to my home page, and that layout showed up on my home page. but then i clicked “public preview”, and it showed just a blank profile. i mean, the stuff i wrote was there, but it was a blank layout. then i went back to my home page again, and it was blank again! aaaahhhhh! i really don’t know what to do. can you help me please? i want my public profile to have that layout on there, the one that i put in the “look and feel”, and i want my home page to be a blank layout. how do i do that??

For weeks I have been writing about not being able to post mobile blogs, I have been very patient and have tried everyway I can to get help. But it’s not coming..

Please, I have paid for xanga premium and can’t make use of the function I wanted. Right now I feel like I threw away my money on my membership and I’m not very pleased with that.
If you guys refuse to help me, then give me my $$$$ back and I’ll setup a blog for mobile posting elsewhere. I am not in the business of throwing away money.

For how long will a life membership last? If it is a lifetime membership, there should be no expiry date unless the account has been inactive for say 12 months!

These guys actually took money, I paid.. They took money but don’t respond to me, and dont fix the problems.. I don’t get this sh*t.. If they would at least acknowledge me with a “we are working on it” or something. F*ck I paid for a service and I’m not getting it.. I email them, I write the profiles, nothing…
Obviously there is no direct contact, I made the mistake of not keeping the original emails I got way back about the problems they fixed… There is no number, only this damn webmail form… Going to the abbyss??? I’m starting to get really pissed off about this sh*t…
I’m only one person, probably not much I can do.. But now I’m going to take action.. I’m going to see if I can get my money back through the credit card, make them retract the funds or whatnot… I’m going to go to the better business bureau website and report this crap.. It’s bullsh*t.. You know??

I purchased my Xanga-for-Life account back in Sept. 25, 2003. I have enjoyed using Xanga for the various things that pop up in my mind. However, there is one thing that I don’t understand.
When I checked my Account Settings, it says that I have “9 Months and 13 Days” left of my Premium Plus account. Is there a particular reason why a lifetime member such as myself would be given a service time limit?

i’ve wanted xanga life for what seems a lifetime yet never quite get enough money together to pay for it before each offer runs out. i looked into paying by bonus credits but alas, sadly i’m apparently not a big enough user. so i tried being more proactive however, with the little time i can spare, so far i’ve only managed to get just over 100 credits. It would take me a lifetime via that route. I truly want to support xanga yet at present my finances are tied up elsewhere. how long will xanga life be on offer this time?
